From the moment the music swells on the title screen to the moment the credits roll, Uncharted 3 is a masterpiece.” Read The full Review Click Here

PS3 owners petition Activision for Black Ops refund

This is a petition for a full refund for all of the Playstation 3 owners who bought Call of Duty Black Ops (referred to as BO from here on out), which began selling on Nov 9th 2010. The game was published by Activision and developed by Santa Monica studio Treyarch.

The Playstation 3 version BO was release at the same time and date as the Xbox 360 version. Technically, the Playstation 3 can equal and/or out perform the Xbox 360 on many levels. Yet, the Triple A title BO was release on the Playstation 3 with sub-par graphics, buggy software and less features.

Quote from product-reviews.net

” …It has just been confirmed that the PS3 version of the game will miss out on a huge feature unlike the Xbox 360 version.

Remember how Treyarch confirmed online split-screen a few weeks back? Well, they have now just said that gamers will have the ability to sign in with two separate online accounts, but ONLY on the Xbox 360 version. It means that two people with an Xbox Live Gold account can sign in on one 360 console and rank up individually.

This exciting feature isn’t coming to the PS3 though, and there doesn’t appear to be a solid reason why. To make matters worse, Treyarch’s Josh Olin originally stated on the official US PS Blog that this feature would be included, only to retract his statement later, due to a mistake on his part – how could he get something so important wrong?

We don’t want to point the figure here, but don’t forget that Activision and Microsoft have an exclusive deal in place in which Xbox 360 users will get all Black Ops DLC first before the PS3 gets it a month later. Is this down to the developers or Sony?

Either way, PS3 owners are missing out big time. Just to let you know, the feature is definitely possible on the PS3 hardware since it was done with Resistance and Little Big Planet, so we’re looking at you Treyarch.

Quote from computerandvideogames.com

“Call Of Duty: Black Ops is sub-HD on both 360 and PS3 – but the Xbox version of the game is “clearly superior-looking”, according to experts.

In terms of resolution, the PS3 comes out second best. Modern Warfare 2 hovered around the 1040×600 mark, with 2x multi-sampling anti-aliasing – something the 360 version of Black Ops reportedly matches.

However, according to Digital Foundry, the PS3 version of Treyarch’s shooter has been reduced to 960×544, albeit it with 2X MSAA. However, DF notes that Black Ops is “a good-looking release on both formats”.

The PS3 version also suffers from “screen tear” according to the tech experts – although this is “pretty much unnoticeable” – whilst the 360 version does not.

BO is a Triple A title game that made over $360 million in sales on day 1 alone. Yet, they created a unfinished, sloppy and degenerate game for the Playstation 3 console when the Playstation 3 has games that out shine the Call of Duty Franchise today. And to add salt to our wound, Bobby Kotick the head of Activision had this to say in another interview:

Quote Bobby kotick…

“Partly because we have the financial resources to do it, but we’re now in a place where we can really take the time to make sure we’re going to deliver the best games – and that’s an incredible luxury.”

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php…

But he/they didn’t, at least not for us Playstation 3 owners!

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was released on Xbox 360 & Playstation 3 console last year and looked identical to one another. There weren’t that many differences and gamers got what they paid for. There should be no reason why BO should have been any different. They advertised a game that fans have come to love and in the end, for their latest release, the Playstation 3 got the short end of the stick. They sold us this degenerate version of BO at the same price as Xbox 360 version.

With that being said, is it fair to charge Playstation 3 owners the same price for an inferior product, when both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 had the same amount of development time? Is it fair to charge Playstation 3 owners the same price for an inferior product, when the previous version (Modern Warfare 2) was equal on both systems but the updated version (BO) is not? Is it fair to charge Playstation 3 owners the same price for an inferior product, when the previous version (Modern Warfare 2 on PS3) looked visually better than BO looks now on PS3?

We are requesting a full refund for Call of Duty Black Ops!

Thank You…

Sincerely,
COD BO PS3 Owners

RDR The Undead Nightmare

On October 26th, the Undead Nightmare will be unleashed upon the world of Red Dead Redemption, with an entirely new single-player storyline, as well as brand new multiplayer content.

Seemingly overnight, a zombie plague ravages the once bountiful frontier, decimating the landscape and reawakening the dead. In towns, settlements, and outposts throughout the world, the uninfected citizens are left to fight for survival against waves of the undead. John Marston must ride out into the vast and terrifying world and survive long enough to find a cure.

With four unique zombie classes – each with their own characteristics, plus new infected predatory animals roaming the countryside, and non-traditional weaponry like the Blunderbuss – which can be loaded with looted remains of fallen zombies, the Undead Nightmare Pack offers an entirely original gameplay experience for fans of Red Dead Redemption.

The all new single-player narrative features new challenges, quests, and ambient events, including Missing Persons, where the player must find a missing survivor lost amongst the throngs of undead. This new release also brings new content to Multiplayer, with Undead Overrun, a brand new multiplayer survival mode where waves of infected enemies attack and players must work together to stay alive against increasingly difficult odds.

The Undead Nightmare Pack will be available for download from Xbox LIVE (800 Microsoft Points) and PlayStation Network ($9.99) and requires a copy of Red Dead Redemption to play. Also coming soon, Undead Nightmare, a single, stand-alone disc that bundles together for the first time ever, the Undead Nightmare Pack, the Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack, the Legends and Killers Pack, the Liars and Cheats Pack and all the Multiplayer Free Roam modes released to date.

Dead Rising 2 DLC Theme Packs 4 PS3, Xbox 360

Capcom has pursued an aggressive downloadable content strategy with Dead Rising 2, one that began before the game’s September 28 launch and will extend at least into November. Thus far, that strategy has included the record-setting prologue episode Case Zero, and Capcom confirmed during this year’s Tokyo Game Show that it would also release the epilogue add-on Case West in the near future.

As it would turn out, Capcom also has more traditional DLC in the works, announcing today a quartet of theme packs for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of Dead Rising 2. The first of these packs will be available on October 12, and Capcom will roll out the remainder at the rate of one a week until November 2.

This is actually from the Sports pack, not Psychopath.
The Psychopath Theme Pack kicks off the new content, removing all doubt of Chuck’s mental stability and making him more difficult to kill. The pack also includes new takes on weapons such as chainsaws, cleavers, and axes. On October 19, Capcom will release the Soldier of Fortune pack, allowing Chuck to “Rambo out” with double ammo, increased shooting accuracy, increased damage, and added headshot accuracy.

Capcom’s October 26 update will be for sports fans, as it increases the damage of weapons ranging from baseball bats to basketballs. The Sports pack also includes a new charge/tackle attack, presumably meant to imitate a linebacker blitz. The theme packs will conclude on November 2 with the release of the Ninja add-on. The pack includes a new stealth mode, in which zombies must be much closer to Chuck before becoming aggro.

All of the packs also include new costumes and clothing that Chuck can mix and match with other items in the game. Capcom did not provide pricing information for the packs and had not responded to requests for comment as of press time.

Playstation Move sells 300k in first 10 days

Following the news last week that Sony sold around 140,000 units of Move hardware in the first few days, we can reveal that as of the September 25th over 300,000 units have now been sold, around 40% in the Americas and the remainder in EMEAA (Europe, Middle-East, Asia and Africa) – Japan has to wait until October 21st for Move.
Sports Champions (bundled with the Move pack in America and with some hardware packs in Europe) has now sold over 250,000 copies – by far the most successful Move compatible title to date and selling at over an 80% attach rate at this early stage. Sports Champions is clearly the early driver for Move hardware sales although as more software becomes available and new bundles are introduced we expect hardware sales to pick up further and of course the attach rate to decrease.270611b1 Playstation Move sells 300k in first 10 days
