Coming Attractions In PC Gaming Software?

About halfway through the 1990’s, computer gaming really became a huge part of people’s lives. Initially, games for your PC were thought of as simply one more thing to put in there. Today, however, we see a major enterprise that nobody could have predicted. Over the last 20 years computer games have gone from rudimentary isometric 2D games to games with a fully realized 3D environment. Employment in the field of gaming is as rewarding on a purely enjoyment level as it is on a financial scale.

An interesting fact is that computer gaming software advances more rapidly than the technology for the systems on which the games are played. This is largely the result of many engineers in the gaming world taking their “art work” very seriously as they strive to produce their masterpiece. Sometimes an idea isn’t possible until new technology arrives, and that happens faster and faster these days. So, with requirements for stronger computers, pushing for production of better, faster CPU’s and GPU’s is a never-ending task.

Nowadays, the gaming industry is doing so much more than just entertaining us. There are a wide variety of educational games available on the market. Some are even made specifically to provide our youth with basic computer literacy. Others are teaching aids for many different subjects, including reading, math, history and science, among others.

Although many games are educational for most people computer gaming is a hobby. Some gamers prefer Real-Time Strategy (RTS) games where they build empires and direct armies, others like it more up close and personal with First-Person Shooters (FPS) where you play a single soldier in a war, and then those who like longer games with sweeping epic plots there are the Role-Playing Games (RPG). Of course there are many more genres of games but we’d be here all night if we listed them all! And PC’s, laptops, and other gaming systems are every bit as diverse as the people using them.

One common drawback to computer gaming is having to update one’s hardware every time a new game comes out. Powerful hardware is expensive and each person’s computer is configured differently. Some people have the best technology available while others have low-end models with powerful graphics. But no matter the quality of the machine, gaming has a compelling attraction and continues to draw players, both new and old.

This being the case, designers continually try to find different and better ways to present their games. Advancements in monitor technology is essential to this end. The concept of a visor for your gaming experience is nothing new, although new efforts are still being made. However this idea has gone by the wayside in favor of a motion control monitor.

What this means is the monitor will have sensors that can change the position of the in-game camera at just the turn of your head. Motion control is still in the initial stages of development. So with all these new technological breakthroughs still in the works, computer gamers still resort to the old “standby” of keyboard and mouse.

As computer gaming develops, technology evolves with it, and players keep pace with both. Not just a pastime anymore; these programs now invite us into a new world of stories, enlighten our children with knowledge, and supply hours of amusement. And with technology developing faster and faster next year who knows what’s on the horizon in the world of gaming. While we’re waiting, play hard, play often, and play for enjoyment – have fun!

Gears of War 2 (Oldy but Goody)

Gears of War 2 (Oldy but Goody)

GoW2Logo Gears of War 2 (Oldy but Goody)Gears of war 2 is a third-person shooter with a different take on how a war should be. Gears is mostly based on the shotgun but this can be proven wrong and right. Either way here’s the background info.

Gears of War 2 was developed by Epic Games with lead design by Cliff Bleszinski, and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360. It is the second installment of the Gears of War series. The game was officially released in North America, the United Kingdom, and Australia on November 12, 2008. The game expands technically on the previous game by using a heavily-modified Unreal Engine 3 engine. The development team also brought in comic book writer Joshua Ortega to help write the plot for the game.

Blah, blah blah in other words it came out in 2008. The games main objective is to kill the other team, their is no team death match game type’s other than Warzone, Wingman, Execution, Horde(For Uncharted 2 Players its Survival) and Guardian. Every other gametype has an objective, now gears is mainly based around the shotgun since its close-quarters (all the time) the shotgun is the main tool. The shotgun has many different techniques and how to use it but first i,ll tell you about maneuvering with any weapon(shotgun mostly).

  • Strafing
  • This is one of the most simple maneuvers of the game, just moving the left analog stick left to right will make any shotgun shots miss you(unless they hard aim) but a good gears player will just shoot you in the face anyway so don’t use it unless your feeling lucky, but in my book theirs no such thing as luck.
  • Wall Bouncing

This is pressing the cover button while facing towards the chosen cover (sometimes you just jump to it)to make you jump from spot to spot. If your good at this you can kill the enemy before they even get a shot on you and cover large distances in short time as long as cover is close together. With wall bouncing you can trick the enemy.

  • Roadie Run
  • Roll

These 2 are traits taught to you in the game if help is needed with them just use the game manual. Also other techniques are taught like swat turn which makes you spin from one place of cover to the other that’s placed beside it. (columns or walls)All these tricks are just done with the touch of a button.

Shooting is easy but with the shotgun their is many different types of shooting. Now the game supports an engine where aiming than shooting is still as accurate as the aim when fired. Now pressing the left trigger than the right is Pop-shoting(explained Above).

  • Pop Shoting

Pop-shotting is a good combination with wall-bouncing if your aim is always on the enemy, since your moving fast with a quick aim and a fire its perfect for corners and when your enemy is out of cover and you are behind cover. This means a quick shot to the enemy and you duck down after it which leaves little time for them to shoot you(unless your already under fire). Tip aim for the head

  • Hard Aim

The simplest but most effective way of shooting now if you are hard-aiming and the enemy is wall bouncing towards you if you follow thier movement unless you have lightning fast reflexes you’ll be respawning before you know it. Hard aim gets the most damage by far, but leaves you very open to enemy fire usually good for people who stop with the shotgun and just begin to fire at you. TIP: shooting 1st does not necessarily mean you’ve won, only gives the advantage that he has damage and you do not. Good for when they are massing through doors to get you ( a good hard aim OR popshot will kill them instantly if they are close enough… if you have preactived the percent goes up i,ll talk about that later)

  • Blindfire

The last installment, this is the most fastest but less accurate way of shooting a shotgun, aim for the head and if your clos enough kaboom 175 points and you have a kill. If they don’t die instantly your not close enough, you didn’t aim properly on their body(chest or head best choices) or their host.

The campaign is fun even better with friends and aggravating to say the least but the problem is its only 2 player co-op. A good side of this is that friends can just jump in or you can go into a special game mode and search for players online to play with or join their campaigns. The game has an unusual power disadvantage during each game. One player on either team has host. This player has more health, more fire power and alot of strength. unless you know you can handle him he’s the most deadly player on the team also every team member with him has host powers so they have the same thing. This is the single most annoying thing in the game other than chainsaws.

Good news though Gears of War 3 is coming out 2011, i,ll leave the trailer here so you guys can experience whats coming here’s a preview of where you can get any more information on the game if you want, but you don’t have to listen to me if you need any other info on the techniques just go on youtube and search the names up and youll get enough montages to last you for a lifetime.

blah

If you’re battling a ravenous hunger for the latest on 2011’s biggest shooter, don’t miss the June issue of Game Informer, featuring a massive in-depth preview of Gears of War 3. Don’t worry—it’ll be easy to spot on the newsstands. Just keep your eyes peeled for the badass Gears 3 wraparound cover. The June issue of GI will hit mailboxes and newsstands soon. In the meantime, hit the jump for a high-resolution look at that sweet, sweet cover art.

Project Natal For Xbox 360

Project Natal (pronounced [na'tal], nah-tahl) is the code name for a “controller-free gaming and entertainment experience” by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game platform. Based on an add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, it enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller through a natural user interface using gestures, spoken commands, or presented objects and images. The project is aimed at broadening the Xbox 360’s audience beyond its typical gamer base

Project Natal was first announced on June 1, 2009 at E3 2009. Microsoft said that over a thousand software development kits began shipping to game developers that same day. It is scheduled to be released in time for Christmas 2010. Pricing has not been released yet.
Project Natal will reportedly also serve as the basis for a “new” Xbox 360. Though it is rumored that the launch of it will be accompanied with the release of a new Xbox 360 console (as either a new retail configuration, a significant design revision, and/or a modest hardware upgrade), Microsoft has dismissed the reports in public, and has repeatedly emphasized that it will be fully compatible with all Xbox 360 consoles. Microsoft indicates that it considers it to be a significant initiative, as fundamental to the Xbox brand as Xbox Live, and with a launch akin to that of a new Xbox console platform.[9] Project Natal has even been referred to as a “new Xbox” by Microsoft chief executive officer Steve Ballmer at a speech for the Executives’ Club of Chicago. When asked if the introduction will extend the time before the next-generation console platform is launched (historically about 5 years between platforms), Microsoft corporate vice president Shane Kim reaffirmed that the company believes that the life cycle of the Xbox 360 will last through 2015 (10 years).
